A golden «vieira» is located a few meters from the Santiago Street. It directly points to the exit the Roman city of Complutum.
The ancient city of Alcalá de Henares is a small jewel to visit nearby the main city of Madrid. It is a fact that is the city where we live and also a starting-point for our adventures on The Camino. Therefore it is easy for us to talk from experience although I concede that I could not become so much impartial. It is a small sin considering a tour through its old quarter.
There is a Camino Complutense towards Santiago. Its beginning is the Cathedral-Magistral, but previously you can enjoy a walk through the colonnade from Mayor Street until Cervantes Square. It is worth to take some hours to aware your curiosity on this privileged scene designated heritage of humanity.
This time your lighthouse pointing Santiago is not the sunset to the west, it is the north which guides you until taking The Camino de Madrid. It is worth a to take a break before facing your way to the capital of the kingdom, because Alcalá has the ancient charm which everyone would enjoy.
